Changing Tides PaddleCraft offers kayak, canoe and SUP (standup paddle board) instruction and training in Connecticut and New York. We are proud that our Instructors and Guides are trained and Certified by the American Canoe Association - the benchmark for paddling Instruction in North America. Together our staff span a broad range of paddling disciplines from flat to moving water in coastal and river environments. We bring depth of experience and love of the outdoors to the art of building your paddling skills. Our tours are both fun and educational. Years of experiece teaching environmental education guarantees and interesting experience on the water. Our tours are also structured to offer our students a chance to practice their skills in friendly and interesting on-water settings.

Fall Bring Your Own Boat (BYOB) Tours: These are our most economical tours. We have selected a series of local put-ins for relaxing weekend tours where we can see the foliage change and encounter local wildlife. Enjoy the scenery in the comfort of an organized tour with experienced and knowledgeable guides. These locations are suitable for any paddler that is confortable in their own boat. Sat. 10/14, Bantam River, Litchfield, CT: ~2 hrs; $25 (see wetlands wildlife: herons, beaver, etc.)
Sat. 10/21, Great Swamp, Dover Plains, NY: ~2 hrs; $25 (meandering wetlands tour)
Sun. 10/22, Lake Waramaug, New Preston, CT: ~2 hrs; $25 (sign up for a post trip tasting at Hopkins Vineyard for $12 extra)
Sat. 10/28, Housatonic River, New Milford, CT: (slow-moving flatwater) ~2 hrs; $25

Rental: boat + PFD + Paddle, $15 (tell us your height, weight & waist size)

Custom Tours: we can arrange for custom tours to fit your needs. If you do not have your own boats and gear we can provide boats, paddles and PFD's to fit most paddlers. We provide leadership for your tour at a location we decide on together. Here are some typical tours we can offer on request:
